Biophilia

Biophilic design has been shown to provide measurable benefits to the humans exposed to it in work, education and health spaces.

Biophilia is the innate desire for humans to connect with nature.

Biophilic design is where natural elements are used in the design of things, spaces and the built world around us. Nature can be used purely as an inspiration for pattern and design or natural materials such as wood or stone can help bring the outside in. Also, the use of acoustics is closely associated to biophilia as is lighting and airflow - any aspect of nature can and should be used to enhance our indoor spaces.

What's more, research is demonstrating that using biophilic design in workplaces, educational institutions and in health environments can deliver real and measurable benefits to the people who use them, helping creativity and productivity, enhanced learning and faster recovery.
